Tillotson Enterprises offers four distinct systems for industrial and commercial roofing applications: spray polyurethane foam, ply-system, direct bond and a system designed specifically for repair of metal roofs. Spray Polyurethane Foam
Sprayed Polyurethane Foam (SPF) roofing systems provide a durable, waterproof covering that bonds tightly to nearly any properly prepared surface. The foam is professionally applied with a spray gun that mixes two liquid components to form a rigid polyurethane foam surface. It's so lightweight — about eight ounces per square foot — it can be applied over most existing roof systems without exceeding the structural load capacity, yet it easily withstands foot traffic and other weight requirements.
For most installations, the old roof stays on, saving you $.25 to $.65/sq. ft. in tear-off costs and speeding up the installation time. The insulating nature of foam keeps heat from penetrating in the summer or escaping in the winter, permanently lowering heating and air conditioning costs for most owners. Unlike some systems, foam roofing systems can be recoated with ease, extending the life of the roof.
Foam roofing also offers the advantage of being self-flashing: during installation, the foam flows around all protrusions, such as roof vents and cooling units, forming a tight bond that seals off places leaks can start.
The final step in an SPF building is the application of a quality coating. They cure to form a seamless, flexible covering that protects the foam from sunlight and moisture, while the reflective white finish helps make the roofing system even more energy efficient. Back to Top
Ply-System
The majority of all roof jobs now use a ply-system instead of built-up roofs because they are generally more cost efficient, longer lasting and lighter than built-up roofs. These systems are perfect for flat or low-sloped roofs and can be applied to exterior grade plywood, high density concrete or smooth surface build-up roofing
Tillotson Enterprises uses a fabric-reinforced ply system that combines the leak-resistant seamless coating of a liquid-applied system with the toughness and a tensile strength of a single-ply system. The reinforced fabric gives extra strength to the finished watertight coating without adding significant weight.
Because not every roof is the same, ply-systems are custom built on site. By embedding fabric between multiple layers of specified roofing material, Tillotson Enterprises’ ply-systems are made to meet the unique needs of each roof.
With its reflective, energy-saving white top coat, your finished ply-system stands up against tough weather and offers durable, long-lasting protection. This system gives you solid, long-term protection from natural elements that can damage the surface of your roof. Back to Top
Direct Bond
Tillotson Enterprises uses Elasta-Gard Direct Bond Roof Systems by NEOGARD. These are high performance, fluid-applied systems, engineered for toughness and durability. They are designed to dramatically extend the service life of built-up, modified bitumen, metal, concrete roofs and single-ply membranes.
The direct bond system provides a cost effective alternative to traditional roofs that would otherwise require expensive and disruptive tear-off and replacement. NEOGARD fluid-applied roof systems provide documented high-performance, durability, 100% sustainability, low maintenance, cost efficiency and reflectivity.
Superior resistance to impact and fire, mildew resistance, flexibility, adhesion, and ease of application make Elasta-Gard Roof Systems an excellent protective elastomeric barrier for extending the life of most roofing substrates.
Reflects up to 85% of the sun's rays to reduce interior temperature
Monolithic, fluid-applied with no seams or fasteners
Fully sustainable - 5 and 10 year renewable warranties are available
Applies to virtually any roof substrate
ASTM E108/UL 790 Class A approved systems
ENERGY STAR®, LEED, CRRC approved and/or certified.
Metal Roofs
Metal roofs are frequently specified by engineers, architects and contractors because they are lightweight, durable, and relatively easy and inexpensive to install. But they have one major weakness. Leaks often develop along the seams of metal roofs due to rust or corrosion, deterioration of fasteners, poor joint design, or structural settling. Fortunately, Tillotson Enterprises can help you can compensate for these problems.
Metal roofs wear out over time in part because the neoprene washers fatigue and the holes around the screws become distorted due to the expansion and contraction of the metal. In addition, the mastic between the sheets can get hard and crack, and seals around skylights and other penetrations can deteriorate.
To repair leaking metal roofs, Tillotson Enterprises first power-washes the roof, tightening, adding and replacing the screws. Patches are added to sections of rusted out or broken metal. Fabric and coating is then applied to the vertical and horizontal seams as well as around the penetrations and skylights. Screws are treated with a fastener-grade coating. Finally the entire roof is sprayed with a white final coat, making the entire roof seamless and waterproof.
This system does not add any additional holes in the roof and is a third to half the cost of alternatives such as single ply, a new metal roof or foam. Back to Top
