Letter from the Owners

High Performance Coating Specialists

owners-smallBoth of us were raised in small towns and by people who believed in values like hard work, honesty and integrity. We approach every job we do with those same, solid Midwestern values – you have our word that we’ll do careful, quality work; we’ll meet or exceed the specifications for the job; and if something isn’t right, we’ll make it right.
We’ve been in the roofing business for a long time now, and we’ve looked at a lot of roofs of every conceivable description. Most of our competitors do a reputable job, but as a building owner or manager, you should be aware that especially in spray-applied polyurethane foam (SPF), roofs done by different contractors can vary widely in quality yet still look the same to the untrained eye.

It’s easy for some contractors to save money by hiring untrained workers, perhaps using a lower-solids formulation or skimping on the depth of the foam, or by using out of date equipment that doesn’t cause the required chemical reaction. Before you necessarily accept the low bidder, we would urge you to check out their references and make a call to the Better Business Bureau. Be sure to ask for proof of their general liability and workman’s compensation.

Tillotson Enterprises is a Master Contractor and has a 100% customer satisfaction rate, as verified by Neogard/BASF, in statistics gathered as a part of their Alpha Program (www.alpha.pbsrg.com). To belong, contractors must document jobs and provide a yearly survey, have a third-party physical inspection of work every other year, ensure that 98% of roofs don’t leak and 98% of customers are satisfied; and attend a conference for continuing education in SPF roofing techniques and materials. We are proud to say that only 14 contractors in the country meet these high standards, and Tillotson Enterprises is one.

In closing, let us say that if you choose Tillotson Enterprises to apply your roof or other coatings, we pledge to use quality materials and skilled workers; to deliver the specifications agreed to; and to do the job right or do it over. It’s how we were raised.

Dan Zysset

Branch Manager & Crew Leader • Salesman

Hello, my name is Dan. Prior to working for Tillotson Enterprises, I had spent 25 years in machine and building maintenance and 17 years as the facility maintenance supervisor for a window manufacturing company. I was a customer of Tillotson Enterprises before I became an employee. I spent a lot of time researching and learning about many different types of roofing systems for the company I worked for, and finally chose Tillotson Enterprises as the contractor to install a new roof on our building. Through that research, and with the additional training I have received since joining Tillotson Enterprises, I have gained a great deal of knowledge and experience about roofing and insulation systems and repair. I was able to observe first-hand the quality of the products, the attention to detail, and the desire to satisfy the customer that Tillotson Enterprises is known for. Several years later, I was given the opportunity to join the company to start the Lincoln branch office. I enjoy working for a company that sees you as an important part of their success and is willing to give you the training and tools you need to succeed both personally and professionally.
